One of the largest and most active diplomatic missions in the world, the United States Embassy in New Delhi highlights the importance of the relationship between the United States and India, the world’s oldest and the largest democracies, respectively. Each day, the Embassy serves over a thousand consular visitors and hosts American and foreign citizens in pursuit of furthering economic and cultural exchanges. Since the Embassy opened in 1959, the mission has grown dramatically, creating the need to reimagine the historic site and how it serves American diplomacy abroad.
